Privacy policy

1. Who we are

Care Registry is an independent directory that helps participants, families and support coordinators find and verify disability support providers across Australia. We are not affiliated with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) or the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

2. Where provider listings come from

Listings are compiled from public sources. A provider does not sign up to be listed, and most listings are created without contacting the provider first, the same way business directories list businesses. Our sources are:

• The NDIS Commission provider register: business and legal names, ABN, registration status, approved supports and outlet locations.
• The Australian Business Register: ABN status, registration date and entity details.
• Providers' own public websites: contact details such as email, additional phone numbers and social links.

Because these sources are collected rather than supplied by the provider, details can be out of date or incorrect. Where a listing relates to a sole trader, some information may be personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

3. Correcting or removing a listing

If you are a provider and you do not want to be listed, we will remove your listing, free of charge and with no conditions. You can also ask us to correct it instead. Email us at hello@careregistry.com.au from an address at the business's domain, or one we can reasonably tie to the business, and tell us which listing. See our providers page for details.

4. Information we collect from visitors

You do not need an account to search or view listings, and we do not ask you to enter personal details to use the site. Searches run in your browser and are not stored against your identity. We do not currently run advertising, and we do not set tracking cookies. If we add website analytics in future, we will use a privacy-preserving configuration and update this policy before doing so.

5. How we use information, and sharing

We use the information we hold to operate and improve the directory and to respond to correction, removal and general enquiries. We do not sell personal information. Our hosting and email providers may process data on our behalf, and may store it outside Australia, including in the United States, subject to their own security and privacy terms.

6. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) you may request access to personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to remove it. To make a request, contact us at hello@careregistry.com.au. We action reasonable requests promptly.

7. Children

The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
